I use IVS on 2 of my cams to trigger BI via ONVIF and it works quite well, have it set to trigger on cars or people. Never tried the generic motion detection so no idea how well that works.

I don't think there is. I tried Onvif triggers with a Dahua camera, and it worked well with BI5, which leads me to ask if there are any settings for this in the camera itself. Otherwise, send a message to support, and let us know the response.

Onvif alerts

I am trying to use motion triggers from my camera. When I activate the alerts, alerts are received ever 3 seconds.
I have looked at the onvif stream with ovm and the camera is sending "isMotion: false" ever 3 seconds, this changes to "isMotion: true" when there is motion.

It would appear that Bi is not reading the status but only the message. Is there a way to change this?
