It is unrestricted meaning it will not be power managed.

Could this be a Android battery saving mechanism preventing accurate GPS fixes ? Have a look for the settings.

I use geofence in the Android app to get notifications when I'm away from home. Sometimes my location isn't updated when I'm back inside the geofence inside my home and continue to get notifications.

Is there a way to force a location update?
