Firstly, I would like to say thanks for making BI! I greatly appreciate the vast amount of reconfigurability which is always something I look for in software

Since purchasing a license in April 2024, I have been using BI with 5 cameras. (DAHUA, HANWHA, and HIKVISION) running Windows 11 on a i5 9400T 24 GB RAM machine. I also use the BI app on my ipad and iphone, which I have configured to work under a LAN-only user. Recently, however, I've encountered difficulties due to the machine running BI not having internet access. The error message displayed reads 'Please check user & password', despite the successful on login/action notification I have set-up for this account which is sent to the ipad as well as a 'sound' notification/action which is played on the machine, both indicating this user was able to successfully login. These connectivity issues seem to occur within approximately 15-30 minutes to one hour after "losing" internet access on the machine, that is to say I am still able to access BI on my ipad within this time frame.. I also noticed that when the machine has no internet connection I am unable to delete or export videos.

I use pfsense to block internet traffic going out the WAN interface which means no blocking rules have been done against the LAN interface. This is by choice as I thought having block rules on the LAN interface could lead to unforeseen issues....

Is there a way to allow BI to function without requiring an active internet connection? Ideally, I'd prefer to maintain the current set-up where internet is only enabled when necessary or for updates. Perhaps I am missing some configuration somewhere or it's just not possible altogether? Can someone please shed a light on this small but annoying issue?

Regards,
Eva
Statistics: Posted by bsd24 — Tue Jul 02, 2024 5:27 pm
