I actually currently use the Reolink doorbell but I am trying to switch away from their products because they have poor customer relations and are problematic in general. I just got a Hikvision DS-HD2 doorbell and with the SD card storage it works great for what I need. I just wished there was a POE version that also supports SMB/FTP recording for continuous recordings. That's very problematic I found for SD cards because all it takes is one hiccup and the only thing gets corrupt.
Statistics: Posted by Johnmike — Tue Jul 30, 2024 8:00 pm

The brand-specific doorbell apps are still the way to go for the most consistent behavior and stability, especially for the two-way communication aspect and especially if remote access is desired/required.

That said, one of the more Blue Iris friendly doorbell cams is the Reolink. ONVIF/RTSP compatible and can be either wired or wi-fi with one model being PoE capable as well.

No cloud reliance. No subscription. No strings attached. Use it the same way you would use a normal IP camera, including live streaming, recording, alerts and storage..., with the exception of the two-way talk feature. Blue Iris is woefully inadequate in this area.
Statistics: Posted by Pogo — Tue Jul 30, 2024 3:09 pm

I am considering buying Blue Iris to add all my different make cameras to one VMS and need to know if I will retain the calling features for this Doorbell when someone presses the button. If not, are there any doorbell cameras that are fully compatible with BI that retain this feature?
Statistics: Posted by Johnmike — Mon Jul 29, 2024 10:44 pm
