Re: BUG - Issues since upgrading the v5
Yeah... I'm not a developer or an analyst, but it feels like the service is bleeding memory like there's no tomorrow. We have a client that has 50+ cams, so having server w/32GB of ram wasn't unjustified. After numerous "low memory conditions", we upgraded to 64GB. Same issue. Low memory....

Re: Ghosting - I think this is what this artifact is called - anyone esle struggle with this?
I've tinkered with various settings but I hate doing random changes without understanding the exact impacts. I've set both the i-frame and the fps to 10 in the cameras. By the way, what are the units on the i-frame number? Obviously frame rate is in frames per second. I know the general idea is tha...

Re: Higher CPU usage after upgrade on 8/7 to full version
Hello All, I am running Blue Iris as a service on the following server: Windows Server 2019 full desktop running as a virtual machine. I'm using 12 cores of a dual processor total of 24 cores. The physical server has 72GB of memory. Virtual machine is set for dynamic memory and dynamic storage. Loa...

Re: Reeolink Cameras Bringing BI to it's Knees :-(
Does anyone know if it would be worth my while to upgrade to BI5? Or are the Reolink cameras just trash. I saw Glenn's comment that he shelfed his.... :-( JB Worth upgrading, but won't reduce your CPU usage. Honestly, in your case it's more that BI is targeted\optimised for Intel and\or Nvidia user...

Re: My server PC
Right now I am running BI on an Intel NUC (i7) along with PLEX and am finding the limits of what the CPU can handle. With 7 cameras of various resolutions and only recording when triggered, my CPU use for BI stands at about 40-60 percent even after all the settings to keep proc use in check. I am p...

Re: H265 issue
I'm not Tim but a recent minor release of BI5 noted a new library of some sort that the author stated "might help" with H265 acceleration. That type of loose statement that it 'might' help is not too comforting to me. I read that as applying to NVIDIA GPU acceleration for H265 My BI devic...

Re: Reeolink Cameras Bringing BI to it's Knees :-(
Did you fix this? Follow any of the guides on the internet, showing how to reduce CPU usage with BI. - Always use direct to disk recording - Disable BI Overlays - Use Hardware Decoding (check your CPU supports Intel Quicksync) It's often the motion detection that consumes BI resources, - Lower Frame...

Re: VLAN & Firewall rules
Possibly Overengineering it a bit. If you have BI and the CAM's on different networks, you then need a vLAN capable router or firewall router to bridge them together, but then you might as-well not have them separate. The router and firewall will also kill performance. Typically, most people want th...

Re: BI 5 Feature suggestion thread
I am actually very happy with BI. I have 3 feature requests a) H.265 Intel CPU Hardware Decoding b) Motion Detection to operate on sub-streams (sure you can manually set this up to then trigger recording on the HD channels, but there is a bug in the triggers that stop recording despite continual mov...
