To prevent these recordings from absorbing a large part of the available drive space, I fastforward the clips and if nothing strange appears, just delete them. I agree with you. Instead of the option "Triggered + continuous each" (in Camera settings > Record) I would have expect something like "Triggered + scheduled". (Why on earth would one like to record a few seconds every ten minutes?). Searching for "scheduled recording"...
