Re: Separate headless BlueIris server - does GPU help
So I did some experimenting. First, I found GPU-Z which would show activity of the intel GPU even though task manager would not. I could see it being used, but its load was small, in the 10-20% range. It would go up a bit if Is scrubbed on the timeline (the CPU would go to 100%), but not much. I tri...

Re: Separate headless BlueIris server - does GPU help
BI works best with intel CPUs with integrated graphics so that it can use QuickSync hardware acceleration. People have had some success (once they max out their CPU+IntelGPU) power with adding a separate video card. But the add-on video card does not give the bang for the buck that intel does. In a...

Re: Separate headless BlueIris server - does GPU help
Can you try a test where you plug a monitor in? I remember something about intel quick sync not working with headless systems. Not sure if I am remembering correctly though. I'll arrange something; is that the best thing to use vs NVidia (if I had a suitable card of course). Does BI work better wit...

Separate headless BlueIris server - does GPU help
I have a windows 10 system running in a closet which is running BlueIris as a service. When I connect I use either RDP or UI3. My main emphasis is on review speed, ability to scrub. I am recording direct to disk. Normal CPU is about 13%, even with BI's GUI running in RDP. If I start scrubbing on tha...

Does keyframe interval or fps affect motion detection
I have my cameras at a low frame rate (4fps). Does frame rate have any impact on motion detection, specifically is there any need for a faster rate with respect to motion detection? Also, I have one camera where I can affect keyframe rate. It defaults to 12 (for 4fps). The other cameras do not appea...

Re: BLUE IRIS 5 SMTP SETUP
All Office365 smtp dropoffs I've seen is done with smtp.office365.com port 587 and TLS authentication; the original note looks like the setup that may be internal to an outlook configuration under account settings, and is not what you want. Authentication is required, use the email format of your ad...

Re: trusted IP without login
The Anonymous user can be set to lan only, though since it is an IP subnet based distinction it is a bit dependant on how you do remote access, but generally should allow authenticated access from outside and unauthenticated from inside. Look at the help when on the user page. Caveat: I have all of ...

Re: Bue Iris And IPv6
I realize this is an old post but new to BlueIris and it peaked my curiosity... I have IPv6 set up generally on my home LAN for my own self training, but am not using it for any cameras or BlueIris as I did not see any real advantage, and since windows and other tools continue to refine how they tre...

Re: New user four questions
1) one impact of clip-size is that when exporting a snippet of video I have not found a way to export a snippet that crosses clip boundaries. You'd have to export your snippet in at least as many clips that contain your content. The larger the clip the more likely your entire snippet would be in th...

Re: New user four questions
Is there any form of debugging available, e.g. where I can change settings and run the same clip perhaps and see what happens? Yes, there is a way to run a recorded clip through the motion detection algorithm and have it show what did and didn't trigger. From the main GUI, open a video and right cl...
