"convert/export" option grayed out
I'm just trying to export a small section of video (to email to someone). I right-click the screen, and there is a "snapshot" selection that takes a still .jpg, but to export a section of video i ASSume i need to convert/export, but its greyed out... I am sure I am missing something simple...

Re: "hardware accelerated decode" - even with direct to disc recording?
hmm, thinking about it, I guess BI still needs to decode the video streams to run the motion detection algorithms.... That makes sense. I'm glad I finally sat down to read and follow the "Optimizing Blue Iris's CPU Usage" wiki article!

"hardware accelerated decode" - even with direct to disc recording?
I changed hardware acceleration from none to Nvidia NVDEC (this PC has a fancy gaming video card). CPU usuage went from about 70% to %35. awesome! But I'm a little confused: I have all my cameras set to record "direct to disk". I ASSumed that meant BI was just dumping the raw streams from ...

Re: upgraded to fresh Win 10 install, now BI reverts to Evaluation version?!?
ok, i found the topic titled "Evaluation water mark now showing despite registered account" so i think i know why this is happening. I emailed support to try and get it fixed. I am hoping that I don't need to pay for another license or "support" plan. I was NEVER informed that th...

upgraded to fresh Win 10 install, now BI reverts to Evaluation version?!?
I bought BI back in 2017, and trhen a little over a year ago I had to purchase an upgrade license to be able to go to version 5. Now I finally upgraded my PC to windows 10, I reinstalled BI, and when I put in my License key it only works for a few hours before reverting to "evaluation version&q...

sporadic high RAM usuage and harddrive corruption FINALLY(?) solved!
I'm posting this in case it helps someone else... TLDR: use SATA ports 1 and 2, NOT 3 and 4 full story: Ever since i built a new PC 10 months ago I've suffered with spikes in RAM usuage followed by harddrive corruption. I replaced harddrives multiple times, played with clip storage allocation, and i...

Re: database regeneration gives "could not obtain exclusive DB Access"
I might have finally figured out what caused the "locked file" error messages (which hopefully also was causing all my other problems...). I had only allocated 10 Gigs for the "New" folder, after which it was getting moved to Stored. Apparently some BVR files were being moved to ...

Re: database regeneration gives "could not obtain exclusive DB Access"
Each clip is counted as a 'file', if you would excuse another silly question, what defines a "clip"? I have all the camera's set to record continously. I thought each camera gets recorded to a single file until some maximum file size is reached. or does a new "clip" whenever mot...
