Re: NTP clocks and LAN disconnected from the internet
Hi Tim, I ran into this once. It turned out to be that the device in question wanted SNTP instead of NTP. It would not work with a NTP server. Before this happened SNTP wasn't on my radar. When I thought of time I thought of NTP. Check your NTP server and see if it is configed for both or not, maybe...

Re: Network security: VLAN or Firewall
I used both. I use a sonicwall SOHO UTM. It has 4 LAN ports on it. I set up a separate VLAN for cameras and ran a connection to it. I call it the security VLAN. I run other security related items on this VLAN as well, like light controls, access control, etc. I allow access for NTP, DNS, FTP to a di...

Re: Amcrest NVR - Blue Iris problem
Hi, Please tell us about your network(s). IP adresses, netmask, gateway. Are you using DHCP? What are the 4 cameras IPs? Are they in the same network IP space as your workstation/laptop? Do you have a setup screen in the NVR similar to the one shown in pic below? I was looking in the manual for Amcr...

Re: Can't cap fps/frame rate on Amcrest network camera
I went to amcrest website and looked up the manual for your camera. The GUI is the same or similar to the amcrest cameras I have. - Log into camera. - Go to setup (upper right corner) - Click on camera. (Left column) - Click on video. (Left column just below 'Camera') Then adjust 'frame rate' field ...

Re: dealing with windows 10 update and restart/shutdown
My workaround for now is as follows: I have the security cameras and computer using a separate wifi network (separate access point) that I can disconnect from the internet by unplugging the wan cable. I'm running it like this for now, but will reconnect periodically to allow updates to Windows and ...

Re: Decent cameras
I love my amcrest cameras. I installed them in April and they work great. Summer is in full swing here in the 90's. Tomorrows forecast for 101 degs. Absolutely no trouble w/amcrest in the heat they purr right along. Yet to see how they do in freezing temps. I populated each w/ a 64 Gb SD card for ba...

Remote connection to another Blue Iris instance
Hello, I have an licensed older version of BI (4.8.6.3) running on an old machine. To upgrade I purchased a new machine and loaded fresh install Win 10 and then BI v 5.0.0.56 and then licensed it. When I try to remotely connect from v5 BI to v4 BI, I get the error message: "Trouble connecting: ...
