I believe that this is a bug in the latest release(s).
I am suddenly experiencing the same behaviour on my NAS with overallocation eventhough no setting was changed.

Yes, I had the same issue with CPAI v2.5.5.
Have rolled back to 2.5.4.

That's good news. I suggest turning off auto updates of any type and doing manual updates when you have the time to fix it.
