Android App - Hold for Cycle not working

Android app BI 4
I am not sure why the auto-cycle camera function isn't working. When I activate it, it shows a display of ALL cameras and does not cycle.

Could the cams that are set to record 24/7 cause this ?

Re: Repurpose old Hardware AMD

I agree with @Matts1984. Give it a try. Do follow all of the optimizations that BI suggest and you may be surprised. Squeezing a 4k or 8k cam down to 1080 would be a huge savings. On your PC, check what services and programs are loaded at startup. A minimal AV program like Microsoft would be gentle ...

Re: Linux

Any chance of a Linux based version 5? I would love a Linux version of BI. If there was one available, I would happily buy it again at full price. As would I. I understand that BI is a one man show however I think there could be a good business case for a Linux version. No competition really, yet. ...

Re: Linux

I think another valid reason for asking about Linux or alternative OS versions is that in the hardware race the ARM platform is looking like it may be thriftier than Intel x86/64 based hardware. Intel is no longer in the lead. Not to mention the range of OS choices we would have if a Linux variety w...

Yes there are workarounds but MS would prefer that you log in.
Just sick and tired of having to setup an account and password and....just to buy a f***ing sandwhich.

Linux

Any chance of a Linux based version 5? I am not even a Linux guy, but becoming more and more frustrated with the (noisy) user experience offered by the big data companies. MS coaxing you into using an MS logon to access Windows makes me want to vomit. Thinking with a few additions the nice UI3 it mi...

Re: Profiles not functioning as expected

Hello and thanks for the response. As I recall this happened when I used the + to create a new camera. My solution this time was to copy an existing camera that had the correct profiles selected and then edit the name and URL of the cam. A bit of a work around but got me where I needed to be. I stil...

Re: Turn on Floodlight when motion detected

What is the exact model number of your camera? Some cameras have relay outputs so that camera motion events can activate an external device. The solution in this case is a bit old-school but is my favorite use for X-10. An X-10 Powerflash takes the relay output of the camera and in turn sends X-10 c...

Re: Turn on Floodlight when motion detected

HomeSeer seems rather expensive. I've also been pointed to https://esphome.io/# as a possibility, using Sonoff devices, which are rather inexpensive. Trying to find more details on how to set that up. I can't recommend anything Sonoff unless you are a skilled DIYer and accept the risk of using devi...

You nailed that one.
It does not take much horsepower to run a very powerful automation server, nor does it need to be expensive.
A system like this can speak allot of different protocols so you are not locked into one manufacturers web.
