Web sessions disconnect randomly.

Post by craigstrand »

Good Day Everyone,

I have a problem that started when I migrated to a new faster server. Version 4.8.6.3 64 Bit.

I used to be able to leave any devices connected to the web server overnight and for long periods of time, but now they require me to login over and over. This includes a laptop, iPad mini and a Pixel3 XL.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I'm not going to be a ton of help with v4 as I only started on v5 but..... in the v5 UI3 webserver there is a property in the 3-dot (hamburger menu) at the top right to disable the UI after X minutes of inactivity. By default (and perhaps reset with your server migration) it is set to a value - I think 5 or 10 minutes. Setting it to 0 disables the timeout and you can stay connected indefinitely.

Not sure if this helps though. I'm not sure what the differences are.

Thanks Matts1984,

I just upgraded to version 5 anyway - but not locating that menu on the V5 Web Server property sheet. Can you send a screen shot of where it might be?

Hope this helps. The menu is the three vertical dots to the upper right (Step 1). Not shown is (Step 2) the pop up menu, you want 'UI Settings'. Last you change the inactivity timer to '0' (Step 3)
