im new to blue iris and using the demo right now, is posible to use dynamic dns service so that I have a hostname rather than IP address, like for example i will like to setup a nvr.example.com

Yes, you have to use a Dynamic DNS like NoIP.com to map a name to your WAN IP address. Then port forward your Blus Iris port to the LAN IP of the PC where Blue Iris is running.

thank you got it working, i have one more question if dont mind to help me out, i see on youtube a guy doing a blue iris guide video and on hes video on the blue iris timeline i see he got a person icon probably of motion alert but mine just have a red line , how can i make show a person icon on mine, i know my english is bad hope you understand, i was going to post a pic but got a message Forbidden.
