Re: Transfer to a new computer
Do you care about transferring all of the settins and configs or do you prefer to start from scratch?
You can just deactivate the license on the old one and reinstall the license key on the new one if you want to start from scratch.
Or you could export the settings and import them on the new machine.

1. Make sure you have your license key.
2. Go to Blue Iris Settings -> About tab.
3. Click on Export Settings ( C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 5\Blue Iris.reg )
4. Deactivate your license from Blue Iris Settings -> About tab.
5. Install Blue Iris 5 on NEW PC.
6. Copy exported settings (Blue Iris.reg) to NEW PC.
7. Import settings on the NEW PC from Blue Iris Settings -> About tab.
8. Enter your license key.

Hello! Thank you for sharing the whole procedure. One of my colleague also facing the same issue, I will let them know about the above procedure and will try to share feedback from them.

Re: Transfer to a new computer
Good summary, although if you are really lazy, make sure the disks in the new computer have the same disk letters and folders already exist for BI paths.
Re: Transfer to a new computer
My old computer died. I can't deactivate Blue Iris 4 from the old computer (it won't boot). Can I simply install the SW with the old license onto the new computer? I'm, not sure I have the full license number available. I do have the first5 and last 5 on my phone.
Re: Transfer to a new computer
I did find my full license key
Re: Transfer to a new computer
Yes you can.
In the past we have seen people allowing a friend to install BI5 and use their licence. They found it disabled the original installation !
BI5 can be moved around like you are doing quite a few times before it locks up and needs resetting by Support.

Re: Transfer to a new computer
I am trying to install BI v5 on a new PC running Windows 11 Pro. My prior PC was running Windows 7 Pro and I exported by settings to a BI.reg file. I downloaded the full v5 from the BI download page and installed that on the new PC. When prompted, I entered my license key and received a message popup that BI was activated. I then tried importing my BI.reg file from the prior PC. BI appeared to begin the import process and a popup requested restarting the program. I clicked on "yes", BI closed but did not restart automatically, so I restarted it with the desktop shortcut it had generated. I then received a popup stating "Unable to delete registry key to complete import". I clicked on OK in that popup and BI started with none of my cameras, etc.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks
