Ah, %002 does work once a valid plate is found, so maybe those other ones, just show the name as there is no value currently to show?

Yes, that was the noodling thought going through my mind. Looks like we already know the answer then

Edit: Proved it. Both %001 and %002 work that way and only appear for a few seconds. They are now recorded on my video.

I added %003 overlay txt macro and it shows in the live view, but it does not show in timeline or recorded file. Is there a setting to have the overlay show in the recorded file?

I checked %003 and it also worked normally here, so you must have a setting issue. I'm not sure which though :?

Tim: I checked further and none of my added overlays show in my timeline view or recorded files (including a date/time overlay). So the %003 is acting the same as the date/time overlay. Viewable in live view, not recorded.
Do you see any of yours in your recorded files (or timeline view?)

Yes, they are all visible in the recorded video files when playing back Alerts. I can see them on live video and recordings on UI3 too. I note I have "Burn label mark-up onto Alert images" in camera settings/Alert/AI. Could it be that ?

and the answer was:
