Blue Iris Clips Tab> Times don't match the embedded times on the videos.

The time is off by 2 hours. I don't see a way to merely change the time on the left in any of the settings. Obviously tried searching here and on google and chatgpt to now avail. I wouldn't be here asking if I didn't already try to do it on my own. In my windows 10 time changes options, if I mess around with time zones and/or manual time settings, I can get the time on the left to change, but then the times on the clips are not correct. It's all very confusing and I don't know what to try. Hopefully there is a simple way to just change the clip times that are shown on the left by two hours and I'm happy.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

It is not clear if the time stamp you show is from BI or the camera, have you checked to see if the time on the actual camera is correct?

I screencapped a section of the Blue Iris login because it was easier than blacking out areas I don't want to show. The left time is the clips time shown in the UI, the right side is the one that is on the clip itself. The time that is on the right, on the actual file is the correct time. I have my OS with my correct time, and the apps that control the cameras are synced to my phone which is on the same time zone, and all is fine there. But the times shown on the left side that are created for the clips tab on the login webapp, not the Blue Iris software itself, shows the time off by two hours.

Is there not a way to change the timezone or time in the app itself? If I change my OS time by two hours I can get the time displayed to be correct, but then the clip time will be off by two hours. Considering entering the correct time in the app on my phone that changes the time based on syncing it gets the correct time on the actual video, and my OS is correct. I would simply like to be able to shift the time in the webapp, for lack of a better name, ( the one where you enter the ip address and it says Blue Iris, and you fill in your username and password, etc. ), so is it just not possible to shift or correct that time?

If this isn't clear enough to answer my question. I can annotate a full screen cap if needed.

Thanks for your reply.

edit: I gave up on getting the Blue Iris date and time, which displays larger than the embedded Camera date and time, to display matching time with the tab for clips date and time, and just unchecked the box that displays Blue Iris date and time overlay in the Video tab in the Blue Iris app. Not what I wanted exactly, but problem solved. If anyone cares to give additional advice, I'm open to it, but this is sufficient for me.

Thanks again.

The only place that I am aware of that sets any sort of location for BI is the main setup screen (The gear icon) on the tab "location", try setting that to your correct location (Lat & Long) and see if it makes any difference, it is used primarily to determine sunrise and sunset, but it may have an affect on the time zone???? I have never tried setting to the wrong place to see what happens! You should also look in the built in help, search for "Time Zone" there is some formatting that can be applied to the time stamps to adjust the offset so that it displays what you want.

Maybe my version is just too old and doesn't have the location tab? I don't see any tab called location, however I do see schedule which lat and lon, but changing those did nothing. I'm using version 5.7.4.1. I'm going to give up for now. Thanks for trying.

Yes, it changed tabs recently for BI5 installations that move around. I can only guess that means BI5 in a RV. BI5 does need Lat/Long for sunrise/sunset calculations, but it is unclear what was happening with your BI5 installation.

Did you check the formatting for the overlays for that camera, in my recent version it is in the camera settings on the "Video" tab at the bottom is a box that says "Edit overlays" mine looks like this
