Hi all, i have been fighting with this issue/error for some days/weeks now where i'm unavailable to stream newly created/generated clips/alerts, from both the web and desktop app.
The error the web gives me is
And the desktop app gives me:
I did verify that the files are on the path and are also able to view them with windows media play. So fare the "workaround" is to do a "delete and regenerate the database" which does work until i get new clips/alerts
Also tried rebooting the pc and restarting the blue iris app but this doenst seem to work.
Any ideas?

Re: The video stream was lost version 5.9.2x
Something seems unusual... On my installs, the alerts folder only has the jpg alert "images" not the alert recordings (the database just keeps a record of which clips are classified as alerts and then links to the clip and all clips or recordings are stored in the "new" or "stored" folders depending on how you have your storage set up. By default, the camera record page should be set to save video to folder "New" and then the general storage settings move stuff out of new to stored depending on the rules you create.
The other thing that seems unusual is your file name ... I've never seen anything like the "_200000" piece of it before. Normally, it is "camera name" . "date" . "time".
Maybe try going back to using the default folders and default file names and see if things behave more normally. If things work normally with the default name and storage locations then you can try changing one thing at a time and see what initiates the problems you're seeing.

Re: The video stream was lost version 5.9.2x
here are some screenshoots from the "store" settings window
Re: The video stream was lost version 5.9.2x
and here is a screenshot from the Camera settings, (they all have same the settings)
Re: The video stream was lost version 5.9.2x
Strange ... the filename and location that appeared in the dialog you posted earlier doesn't match with the filename format that your camera screen shot shows?
When you look at your folders new, storage and alerts, are the files in the right folders and do they have filenames that match the format specified? if so, I wonder how this dialog cam up with what it did? What originated that earlier screen shot ?

Re: The video stream was lost version 5.9.2x
Are you actually recording direct-to-disk in BVR file format?
Re: The video stream was lost version 5.9.2x
I have been running Blue Iris since version 3.66 many years ago and have only ever used direct to disk with BVR file format. Never really had any significant issues with this. However, if you want to save video clips to send to third parties for any reason, you do have to export to mp4.
Are you using BVR or have you set it for MP4? The dialog box you included a picture of indicates an MP4 file (in the alerts folder which doesn't match the settings you posted)? If you are set for MP4, maybe try going to the default BVR format and seeing if that improves things. The closer you can get to a default install, the less likely you are to encounter bugs or glitches. once you get to a stable setup then you can try changing settings one at a time to see what initiates the problem.
I noticed that your settings have it creating a series of jpg images on every trigger. I have only set to record a single alert image via the "Add to Alerts List - Hi-res JPEG files" option on the Alert tab. I don't have any jpgs set on the record tab.

Re: The video stream was lost version 5.9.2x
The question was for the OP.
Conversion and export from BVR is not limited to MP4. AVI and WMV are also options......if you want to save video clips to send to third parties for any reason, you do have to export to mp4.
Re: The video stream was lost version 5.9.2x
I glanced over that and it sorta answers my original question. Something appears to be hosed up in your original encoding.
Use Direct-to-Disk and save the files in BVR format. They should play correctly in Blue Iris..., but not anywhere else.
Then convert and export in the format of choice between MP4, AVI, or WMV for external viewing.
