multi-camera display in UI3

Post by JudasD »

I think i see an issue on the UI3 multi-camera display (dashboard view?) when you pass a certain number of cameras.

I have been running 7 cameras in v5 and all has been well. The multi-camera display in UI3 worked just fine. Today i added camera number 8 and now the multi-view has cameras drawing on top of each other and only partially refreshing. This is rendering the UI3 multi-view useless.
I tried multi PCs (windows & linux), browsers and mobile devices.

When i remove any camera and return to my previous total of 7 cameras, everything goes back to normal and works.

Has anyone seen this issue when trying to use a certain number of cameras in UI3?

Thanks,
JD

I haven't seen this... only temporarily when changing webcast settings, then a refresh fixes it.

On my (currently) largest system, I can view all 50 cameras in All Cameras view.

Last night auto-updated to 5.0.5.2 and now i can add the 8th camera. I'm not certain if there was something in the update that fixed it or if there was something wrong with my setup and the upgrade reset it. I'm good now :)

Thanks,
JD

Well, assuming you have up to date BI5, there's clearly no UI3 limitation at eight cameras then

Hi JudasD, it is well worth turning auto-updates off. Better to control them manually, when you have the time to correct anything that breaks

Hi TimG. I think you are right. I will keep it manual so that i can watch it after an upgrade from now on.
For giggles, i did create up to 11 cameras before i saw the issue again. i only need 8 cameras so i am good. it was interesting to see that the issue changed after upgrade, but didn't necessarily get fixed. It could just be my setup.

Thanks,
JD
