problem with setting up phone app
I just got a new phone (note 10+). The blue iris phone app is asking for server information. I got most of the information needed from the windows application. But the phone app needs server username and password. I tried several possibilities, but none work. Is that information (username and password) stored anywhere in the windows application or on the phone app on my old phone? Blue Iris is working fine on my old phone.

Hi, the user and password are those you set up in BI5 settings for this mobile user.

More generally, it is asking for ANY authorized user credentials that you set up in the user panel.

I may have found my problem. I checked the sever information on my my old phone and the WAN address is different than what I was using on the new phone.
I entered the WAN address from the old phone onto the new phone and was hoping that was the problem.
Now new problem; maximum login attempts exceeded.
Will the maximum login attempts reset after a certain time period, or do I need to have BI support reset?

Look in thew advanced web server settings. I think the default is 60 min reset.

ok, I got past the maximum login attempts.
But, I'm still getting the "unable to connect...no matching user/pw" message.

Getting closer
Go to Blue Iris/ Settings/ Users. You can choose any of the users that you have set up there, or create a new one. The password is viewable in the user settings (Double click on the chosen user name) if you already have a user, but have forgotten the password. Add that user name and password to the BI app on the mobile device.

The password under users was not visible, showed *******. I tried the only 7 character passwords that I would have created and none worked.
I created a new user and that worked perfectly. I should have thought of that myself, but I'm 73 years old and maybe my thinker has slowed down.

If you are using BI5, there is an image of an eye to the right of the ***** password. If you click on that, it will show you the password. Creating a new user with a new password is just as good

You could have just changed the existing pw by typing a new one over the ******.
