Favourite cameras? (UK)
I have a fairly old BI CCTV setup. Running eight 2017 Hikvision cameras. We want to upgrade some of the cameras to a higher res. Maybe 4K? There are three external bullet cameras: DS2CD2T42WD-I8 and DS2CD2T42WD-I5 with 8mm and 4mm lenses that we want to upgrade. These are PoE cameras and we ideally ...

Re: Version 4 to version 5 upgrade - what is involved?
Now that is interesting. So if I grab a version from July it will "just work"? I think I may try that out after the weekend...

Re: Cannot start Blue Iris Program
Wow, thank you Seagull for that very detailed reply / tutorial on how to do this ! Happy to share a solution that works and doesn't mess with the security on the rest of the system. I would also think it is worth trying to stop the conspiracy theory that BI caused this. IF they wanted to kill the a...

Re: BlueIris v4 - win10 signature issue, "blocked for your protection"
As a follow-up to the above - you can also just drag and drop the BlueIris.exe and BlueIrisAdmin.exe on top of the icon of FileUnsigner. No need for command prompt. Again I would remind people to keep a backup of the exe before the above change is done. I am using v4.8.6.3 copies of BlueIris. Window...

Re: Version 4 to version 5 upgrade - what is involved?
@rantech - thank you. That was useful and encouraging to read. So I could install 5 next to 4 and just transfer settings? I assume I'd export and import the settings file? But both could be on the same PC while I get this to work. Sounds ideal. The big headache for me is this happened just before I ...

Re: Version 4 to version 5 upgrade - what is involved?
Thank you both for your help 2. Version 5 eligible - If you have a valid support plan you can upgrade to BI5. You only just missed the opportunity to install the BI5 update there. That date should be 12 months after initial installation. I don't have a valid support plan. I realise this, partially t...

Re: Cannot start Blue Iris Program
@advertstore - an elegant solution, but I think only relevant to older v5 versions. I tried it on v4 without success. Also no toaster on v4.

Re: Cannot start Blue Iris Program
You think wrong, the exe is signed but the cert it’s signed with is now Disallowed. I commented above but from a version onwards BI uses a different cert auth to sign their exe files. The exe is signed at compile time. If the cert that they signed with is removed then that is not BI's fault. They j...

Re: Cannot start Blue Iris Program
Does it seem dishonest for Blue Iris to secretly sell software that will certainly stop working without warning? To be fair to BI this is not their fault. They signed their application with a certificate that has now been cancelled. That would be well out of their control and never their plan. I do...
