I've run into a weird one here.
I've installed BI on a clean new(refurb, Lenovo) PC. I7, 1TB drive, 32G memory, basic desktop machine. Windows 10 Pro. 36 cameras. CPU usage is constantly maxed out to the point the OS crashed. Tried new install, same results. I have a spare laptop with an I5, similar setup, all 36 cameras, CPU usage is running 9%. Tried again with the new pc, only 4 cameras this time, running constantly at about 87% occasionally jumping up to 100%. Stop BI, CPU goes to nearly 0. I would keep the laptop in play, but restrictions put in place by IT won't allow me to run as a service, and it reboots on a daily basis rendering it useless as a camera server. Ever hear of this issue? have a fix? Think I just ended up with a bad machine?
Thanks

Re: Issue with new PC and BI
You didn't mention which I7 and I5 cpu's. I would usually try googling "I7-xxxx vs I5-yyyy" to get a comparison of their performance. If they are similar, or the I7 is shown to be much faster, then it is probably in the settings. Did you export the I5 settings and import them to the I7 or something else ?

Re: Issue with new PC and BI
Now that you mention it, when I originally began setting this up on the I7, I had to input all of the cameras by hand. I then exported all of them to a jump drive, so I didn't have to reload them again. When I moved to the I5 laptop, I imported them. Again, with a much lower CPU usage. I have since reinstalled the OS on the I7 from an install disk rather than the recovery partition this time. Installed cameras from jump drive. CPU usage is still high, is running about 80-85%, but not nearly as bad as it was before. When I return to work monday, I'll look at performance data of the processors.
