I've been running BL for about two years. I have it recording ten cameras 24/7 straight to disk on a separate harddrive (4TB westerDigital "Purple").
A few months ago I upgraded to BL5, and also upgraded the PC from an i5 to i7. I got a "Disk not formatted" error on my second harddrive almost right away. So i reformatted the harddrive, rebooted, and everything was okay. For about 3 weeks, then it happened again. I figured the harddrive was just worn out (after 2 years of 24/7) , so i replaced it with a new WD Purple, which ran for about 3 weeks and then I got another "drive not formatted" error!
Is there/ was there any issues with BL5 that could have caused this? Or did i just get a string of bad drives? (and the upgrade to BL5 was just a coincidence for all these errors).
Reading on the internet there seem to be a lot of complaints that the "purple" drives are just junk, but also lots of people that swear by them, so who knows...
Anyway, thanks for any thoughts you may have.
