5.9.1 - May 7, 2024
The camera settings Audio page has been updated and now includes an option to send “talk” audio to an Axis network speaker. The RTSP backchannel option is now integrated into this page as well.
A new progressive option for the AI image analysis interval in order to attempt to catch both fast and slow moving objects (cars vs. people). 50 milliseconds is added to the interval for each image analyzed, both forward and backward from the moment of trigger.
A new option has been added to the Wait action to “cut current recording.” Some users would like to save/send the clip associated with the current trigger and this is only possible if the clip is closed/finalized.

Also why can’t this official BI site have a post similar to IPCT re updates and info on updates? Seems really strange that a site that the official forums want to distance themselves from has up to date info that the official forum doesn’t.

With the new talk options, I have a feature request, and am not sure where to post requests but...

I would like to see an ability to push a trigger/custom action when a talk function is activated. I'm trying to setup a custom automation with home assistant that relies on knowing when "Talk" is activated. Even if it was a status that could be read via the BI integration, someway to know if the function was activated would be great.

(The project I'm working on is outputting the talk/back channel to a 'fake' camera that sends the audio to go2rtc, which then sends that audio to home assistant to pipe out wherever I want. An audio output via FFMPEG to rtsp or otherwise would be great too, still need a way to let home assistant know the stream is active so it can begin the automation/next events.)

If anyone knows another way to accomplish this or if this status is already available via the API, it would be greatly appreciated!
