Do licenses keys come along with the backup/restore?
Re: Do licenses keys come along with the backup/restore?
This post vaguely suggest that it does
https://blueirissoftware.com/forum/view ... keys#p8018
But also suggest that you keep copies of it elsewhere, and indicates that the key may also be automatically be backed up locally, at least that is what I got from a quick scan of the topic!

BlueIris 5.9.3.4 CPAI 2.6.5
Re: Do licenses keys come along with the backup/restore?
I agree that keeping a copy elsewhere is the best solution but having just restored 5.4.9.18 after an unsuccessful experiment with 5.9.3.4 the key came back using the saved preexisting blueiris.exe and backup.reg files.
Re: Do licenses keys come along with the backup/restore?
I actually think it does NOT. I removed a key from a target machine A and moved a registry backup from a different machine B. And the system did not have any license after the import. Even though the backup was created on a machine with an active license.
p.s. I know all about saving keys, the issue here was that I have multiple machines. One got compromised with viruses because I have others with access to the machine and they might have used bad habits. I did NOT want to reconnect the boogered up machine to the internet to 'unregister' its key.
