Hi,
Can I run 2 separate instances of Blue Iris on one PC? The reason would be to separate 2 sets of cameras so that each set has it's own live view port. Would I then need 2 licenses?
Thanks!
Bruce
Run Blue Iris Twice on Same PC?
Re: Run Blue Iris Twice on Same PC?
2 sets of camera with their own live view port!!!
I don;t think you need to do this.
You can define cameras to groups - a camera can belong to multiple groups. Then you can define users, and limit a user to 1 or more groups, or all groups.
In this way you can set a user to view only the cameras you want them to view.
Is this what you want to accomplish?

Mike is spot on!
Under each cameras settings, GENERAL tab you can set up your group names. One done check the "All cameras" icon in the top middle of the screen and you can choose which individual group you wish to view from there.
Thanks MikeBwca as I was unaware of being able to place cameras in multiple groups... That is very helpful to me.

The OPs dilemma was resolved without really answering the question, so I'm wondering if it can still be answered.
In my case I need two streams for each camera, one with a timestamp on and one without. If there's another way to do this that's good too but it seems like two instances running with different settings for the timestamp would do it.

I don't think you can install BI5 twice on the same pc, but I don't think you need to. Have you looked into cloning the camera ? That should allow you to do different settings for the clone.

Re: Run Blue Iris Twice on Same PC?
Highly unlikely the settings and registry entries would allow two instances.

Re: Run Blue Iris Twice on Same PC?
I really wish we could figure out how to do this the 64 camera limit suckssssss I have a system currently running 45 4k cameras with plans of adding atleast another 35 this months and having a second instance of it would be perfect as the system running it is only at 20% cpu usage the only other issue is ram currently have 64gb but 75% is already being used by BI. I did reach out to Ken about it recommending maybe he add a second license option that’ll allow for 124 cameras for twice the price of the 64 camera license however he said there’s no plans to do that which is a huge shame I love blue iris and have 23 systems running it currently.

Could this be done using Docker containers ? I have no experience of them, just a thought.
