License Key deactivating

Post by memo »

Power outage during storm trashed my SSD boot drive on Windows 10 computer. Had to replace and reload Windows, and install BI and everything else. Every time the computer re-boots I look at BI and it says it is an Evaluation Version. Look at ABOUT and it DOES show my license key. Deactivate it and put it in again and it accepts it just fine...but next morning or re-boot and we're back to Evaluation Version. Need some help with this please.

You most likely will have to contact support to get this issue resolved. Not something that can be resolved here on this user forum.

This could happen if you have installed a version of BI5 not covered by your support plan. In General settings, does it show support plan expired or in date ?

If your support has expired you need to either renew your support or find a copy of BI that was released on or before your support expired.

If the key is initially accepted instead of showing as being expired you can try the same system name, name, and email address as the previous installation and also check the "register this IP address" box to see if that may help it stick. The BI servers want to see something familiar.

FWIW, the license key isn't usually visible in its entirety on the About pane. That seems a bit odd. Anyone else have the entire key exposed?
